Mark Tyndall

Dr. Mark Tyndall is a Canadian physician who is internationally recognized for his contributions to HIV care and prevention, global health, human rights, and drug policy reform. He has speciality training in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Public Health. He was formerly the Executive Director of the BC Centre for Disease Control and Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He has over three decades of community-based research and advocacy experience with a focus on global health and harm reduction. He has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications, presented a 2017 TEDMED talk on harm reduction, andauthored the 2025 book Vaping: Behind the Smoke and Fears.
