I am a social anthropologist with an interest in human relationships with psychoactive plants, and how these are being mis/managed. Working at different UK universities, as well as for the European Commission, different arms of the UK government, UN agencies as well as private sector companies, I have learned that the interests of communities, be these non-involved by-standers, tax payers or consumers, are regularly being sacrificed for the benefit of vested interests. In support of this liberal, possibly libertarian stance I appeal to the Delphic maxim of meden agan and the poetic insight that variety's the very spice of life, / that gives it all its flavour. To balance my sedentary writing habits I teach yoga, enjoy hiking and love dancing.
