Co-founder and President of the European Women Alliance (EWA)

Alessia Centioni is an Italian political strategist, policy adviser, and entrepreneur, as well as a mother of two. With over 15 years of experience at the heart of EU decision-making within the European Parliament, she has worked on some of the Union’s most strategic policy areas, including the internal market, industry, trade, and defence, combining deep institutional knowledge with a strong political vision.

Throughout her career, Alessia has been actively engaged in European politics both inside and outside the institutions. She ran in the 2019 European elections, reflecting her commitment to democratic participation and her belief in a stronger, more inclusive European Union. She is the co-founder and president of the European Women Alliance (EWA) and Civico Europa, two organisations dedicated to promoting civic engagement, leadership, and gender equality at the European level.

Her academic background underpins her professional path: she holds a degree in International relations from Sapienza University of Rome and a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). This combination of Italian and Brussels-based education has shaped her distinctly European perspective and her ability to bridge national and EU-level policymaking.

In 2018, she founded the Women’s European Council (WEUCO) within the European Women Alliance-an ambitious and innovative pre-summit held ahead of European Council meetings. By bringing together Heads of State and Government, ministers, European Commissioners, and Members of the European Parliament, WEUCO has become a unique platform to ensure that a gender perspective is embedded across all EU public policies and strategic decisions.

A recognised public voice, Alessia regularly contributes analysis and commentary on Italian and European politics to the Italian press, helping to translate complex political dynamics into accessible insights. In 2025, she founded Spiral Studio, a Brussels-based consultancy born from her desire to connect strategy, communication, and impact. Through Spiral Studio, she supports institutions, organisations, and companies in understanding public opinion, shaping narratives, and building constructive relationships with decision-makers.

Guided by experience, vision, and a strong sense of responsibility, Alessia Centioni continues to work at the intersection of politics, society, and leadership, convinced that Europe’s future depends on courageous ideas and the ability to turn ambition into lasting change.
