Description
In this episode, Elise is joined by Derek Yach, one of the most influential voices in global public health and harm reduction over the past few decades.
Derek is a global health consultant based in the US and has spent his entire career at the sharp end of health promotion, disease prevention and tobacco control. From his early work in South Africa through senior leadership roles at the World Health Organization, the Rockefeller Foundation and Yale University, he has consistently been at the centre of the most important global health debates.
He has also held senior roles in the private sector, including as Chief Health Officer at Vitality and as Senior Vice President of Global Health and Agriculture Policy at PepsiCo, giving him a rare perspective across public policy, academia and industry.
This is a fascinating conversation between Elise, founder of WNC, and someone who has helped shape the global approach to tobacco control, smoking cessation and harm reduction for decades.
